You would think that kids would be a priority when it comes to cancer treatments - that treatments for children would already be advanced, highly effective, and capable of saving nearly every young life.

But for children diagnosed with aggressive neuroblastoma, the reality remains devastating: survival rates are still only around 50%. In simple terms, that means 1 in every 2 children diagnosed with this terrible childhood cancer will not survive.

You would think that childhood cancer research would be the highest priority when it comes to funding.

In fact, only 10% of government funding for cancer research is given to children's cancer research.

And, while therapies have improved over time, children still endure gruelling treatments including intensive chemotherapy, surgery, radiation, immunotherapy, and stem cell transplants, often with life-altering side effects.

This has to change.

How you can help

Neuroblastoma is the leading cause of cancer death in children under five. Behind every statistic is a child, a family, and a future hanging in the balance. Children need treatments designed for them that are 100% effective and which are safe.

With your help this End of Financial Year, we can fund the innovative research needed to develop safer, more effective treatments.

Neuroblastoma Australia is the only charity in Australia wholly dedicated to finding a cure for neuroblastoma. We focus on raising funds for leading research, not only to ensure that all children with neuroblastoma survive through more effective treatments, but that they can also look forward to a long and healthy life.

Your donation will help us put kids first and support the research desperately needed to improve treatment outcomes for vulnerable children.  You can also share our #youwouldthink campaign on social media and with friends and family.

Jullian's story

Jullian was two years of age, just a toddler, when he was diagnosed with neuroblastoma. He is 20 today, and explains why current treatments can cause long-term damage:

Where will your money go?

For more than 14 years, we have been dedicated to improving outcomes for children diagnosed with neuroblastoma. Through our research grant program, we have funded 17 innovative neuroblastoma projects to date.

These projects are helping develop better, safer, and more effective treatments for children facing this devastating disease.

But there is still much more to do.

Too many children still lose their lives to neuroblastoma, while many survivors face lifelong side effects from intensive treatment.

Your donation will help fund world-leading neuroblastoma research projects, selected by an international panel of experts, to accelerate progress toward safer treatments and higher survival rates.

Because every child deserves the chance to live a long and healthy life.
